I'm Standing Up to Cancer because it's a very personal cause for me. As most of you already know, my dad passed away from cancer a month after I turned 21 and of course it had a huge impact on my life. Prior to getting ill, my dad was a healthy, active and fit person. Nobody could ever believe his age (he was 70 when he died) and people would always comment on how young he looked, which in turn made him very vain! Haha :) I never thought I would lose my dad, as ignorant as it sounds. I felt like he was ageless and somehow imagined he would be around for a very long time. I do believe if it weren't for cancer that would be the case but unfortunately it's a nasty disease that robs you of life. My dad suffered through 2 years of chemotherapy before he couldn't fight anymore and it was a horrible experience I will never forget. But my dad is just one of the lives that have been stolen by cancer. Countless families are suffering through the same pain ours went through back in 2008, and we need to do all that we can to beat this thing sooner & help raise funds for vital, life-saving research.
My Zodiac necklaces are inspired by a piece of jewellery I inherited from my dad and have been wearing everyday since my wedding. My gold Scorpio necklace (our shared star sign) was the whole reason behind me creating a jewellery line of meaningful pieces which can be worn by anyone. It only seems right that my contribution to the 1000 hours of fundraising for Stand Up to Cancer with YouTube should have something to do with the necklace which started my collection.
Throughout October I will be donating 16% of the proceeds to Stand Up to Cancer. Anyone who buys an Anna Saccone jewellery piece will be entered into a competition where ten people have the chance to win tickets to a special afternoon tea in London with me :) Please note, you must opt in for this competition when at the checkout. Two international winners will have their flights and accommodation paid for! (So yes, the competition is open internationally). All entrants must be 18 years or over and have a valid passport. The competition will run for 2 weeks and begins today (30th of September) and ends on the 14th of October.
The lucky winners will receive a box containing 2 Zodiac necklaces, the one they ordered and a second one that has a special engraving on the back which acts as an invitation to afternoon tea with me on the 26th of November 2016. For terms and conditions, please head to Stilnest.com/tea-with-Anna. Good luck to everyone who enters and I hope to see some of you in London soon! :)
I so wish I could, can't afford it but know I'm so proud of you Anna<3

What a wonderful thing to do Anna. I think I'm going to get one to represent my dad who also died when I was quite young. I adored him. You are so strong to be raising money for cancer in his honour.
ReplyDeleteThank you for raising awareness. This is a personal cause to me too, good luck to everyone who enters the competition!
