Busy mornings at nursery & ballet for Emilia mean more one-on-one playtime for this monkey! Eduardo loves to crawl into his tent and hide until I come find him which is when he always gives me this mischievous little grin! These pyjamas are age 6-9 months, far too small (from John Lewis) but I love them so much on him I can't bear to part ways just yet! Monday mornings are always absolutely crazy in our house so I try to spend as much quality time with Eduardo as possible. Now that he's dropped his first nap I'm trying to find some baby groups to take him to!
I also managed to squeeze in a gym session yesterday in an attempt to balance out all the cupcakes consumed over the weekend! I'm trying to get in about three workouts a week which is harder than I expected, especially when I've never been a regular gym-bunny in my life! I just keep telling myself it will be worth it by the summer ;) Ha ha...we can hope! (My gym outfit is all Victoria's Secret Pink and I definitely need new trainers, let's be honest. Mine are about 500 years old.)
Later in the afternoon I got my nails done! Two weeks ago I got my first gel manicure (that wasn't done by myself) which was a decision I made based on the fact that I'm trying to grow them healthy & strong again. My nails are SO different to how they were before being pregnant with Eduardo! They used to be so strong and long with minimal effort, now they split all the time and I wonder if it has something to do with breastfeeding taking all my nutrients!? Now that I've stopped I'm hoping to get them back to where they used to be. I heard that gel nail polish will help them grow & protect them from so much breakage so I'm willing to give it a shot! Last time I went for red so of course this week I chose the complete opposite! I got a clean, natural nude pink called Bubble Bath from OPI's Gel Colour range. Part of the reason I chose this colour was because I've been feeling quite bridal lately! I know it's already been mentioned on the vlog but in case you didn't already figure it out, last week Jonathan upgraded my wedding/engagement rings! It was a big surprise and something I wasn't expecting. This month marks 8 years since we first met which is crazy to think about! I am so grateful to Jonathan for this beautiful present (though he still won't wear a ring himself...I tried! But this man is stubborn when it comes to wearing jewellery!). I'm not actually wearing my new wedding band in the picture as it was being resized and hadn't come yet but I received it today so I'm really happy to have the full set!
Before ending this post I just wanted to say that initially I was not going to share a picture of my new ring, as I was apprehensive about the backlash/criticism I might receive...but then I got so many questions and comments from people begging me to put a photo up that I gave in. I also feel like this is my life, my blog, my social media and whether I have 1 follower or 1 million, it's a photo I would want to share only because I'm proud and happy about it! Ultimately material things are not really what matter in a relationship...if Jonathan & I had an unhappy marriage but he gave me a shiny new ring it wouldn't mean anything and I probably wouldn't feel like sharing it at all because it would feel fake. I'm a girly girl and of course I like shopping, clothes, shoes & jewellery as much as anybody else but those are not the things that will make you happy - it's the relationships you have with yourself and those that are closest to you that are worth so much more than money can ever buy.
I personally think why not get new rings if you can afford it. The last ring was yes, the ring from your wedding but your life was so different then. The new rings represent your lives together and the family you've made. It's so beautiful too!

ReplyDeleteI love the new ring. And I'm so happy I'm not alone in upgrading wedding rings.
ReplyDeleteI've already upgraded once and intend on doing it again in the future.
It's a personal choice that is up to the individual.
I've been with my husband for over 20 years, we're happy, and I love diamonds so will do as we please.
So happy you shared your ring; I've been waiting to see it.
And haters will hate on anything.
The ring is gorgeous and you should be proud of yourself and Jonathan.
Your ring is absolutely beautiful Anna! xxx

Your ring is beautiful Anna and there is no one more deserving of some spoiling!
ReplyDeleteHello Anna! I found you on YouTube around the time I was planning my wedding. I was looking up bridal makeup and found your wedding videos! Awhile after that I started watching your family vlogs, and just wanted to say how beautiful your family is- not just by looks, but by heart! About your new rings, I completely understand why you were hesitant to show them. I'm kinda in the same situation. My husband and I have been together 9 years (this Sunday!!) and married for 3 years (this Sunday as well!!) when I got my engagement ring years ago, that was all we could afford at that time. Plus we feel the lady didn't show us much options because we look kinda young for our age. So, we've had a few conversations about my ring and what will probably end up doing is create a new ring using my current engagement ring. It'll also have to go with my wedding band, and I told my husband maybe will do that around our 10 year anniversary or whenever he feels is the right time. But see I'm kinda in the same situation, whenever I do get my new ring I think I'll still be a little hesitant. But at the same time who cares what others think, they aren't wearing your ring and they sure aren't living your life! Keep doing what your doing! :-)
ReplyDeleteYour new ring (and your nails)... beautiful! :)

That ring is so stunning! Honestly, you and Jonathan have such a wonderful relationship and family - you guys deserve all of this success and happiness that you have and receive. Families like yours aren't easy to find, so I'm so happy that you are able to share it with those who don't have the best current situations! Also, I love your gym clothes! Haha I love working out in bright colors for motivation!

Totally agree! Material things are temporary but great RELATIONSHIPS are worth more than anything else. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna for sharing your beautiful ring!! I am sure you had a really busy last week and managed to get in your training. Well done and keep up the great job. Jonathan did an awesome job with the ring...should be proud of himself! Loving the nail polish as well. Hope you guys have a great rest of the week. Take Care!!
ReplyDeleteYour new ring is gorgeous, Anna! You and Jonathon upload quality vlogs 365 days a year, plus your own individual channels - you deserve to spend your money as you please! Also, your ring is a great investment - monetarily and sentimentally. What a lovely heirloom to pass down to Emilia or Eduardo one day :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Love the new ring and Wardos adorable smile.
ReplyDeleteGreat words Anna at the end of this post! I agree 100%! I've been there - done that, tried to "buy" my happiness and feeling good but instead I was just miserable, surrounded with things which I couldn't care less about. The real core to happiness is inside of us and among people that surround us! If we are happy and have happy relationships, then nothing else matters in this world and nothing can make you feel as amazing as the simplest things or words like getting a rose from your husband, kiss from your daughter, good talk with your mom, etc.
ReplyDeleteMuch love to you Anna and don't feel the need to apologise for your life or lifestyle, there're also people that get inspired by you and your life and can only get motivated to do something in their lives to be able to "afford" a nice ring or mani-pedi or shopping spree, etc.
Love you, Anna! I have been watching your vlogs/videos/reading your blog for years and years now and I'm excited for you all to be so happy. Love watching you guys everyday! -Love from New York :)
ReplyDeleteHi Anna! Yay another post! Your ring is gorgeous and I love the pink-nude nail color you chose. By the way, I understand your fear of showing your new ring, but honestly like you said: its your blog so share what you want! I love seeing and reading whatever you chose to share and if people get judgmental that's their issue. Of course that's easier said than done and I wish had your strength and confidence when it comes to these things!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I know awhile back Jonathan surprised you with a Burberry trench-coat. As a total designer lover myself, if you're willing to share it I'd love to see it in an upcoming OOTD post.

Thank you so much for showing us. I remember the talk Jofee told us standing on that street, saying how much he loved you and wanted to get you something more... He was so sweet. That night or the next day I can't remember was the rose pedal day. I've watched it many times. So glad you two have got as far as you have. It's really cool watching you two come from nothing to something really nice. I mean everything. It's great that you two let us watch true love grow and prosper
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ring! I love it! My 3 year old son and I love watching your family on YouTube! He would love to be friend with Emilia and Eduardo!
ReplyDeleteWill you be posting a picture of the engagement ring with the wedding band? I'd love to see them as a set! Eduardo and Emilia are absolutely adorable! Watching the vlogs, snapchats, and both yours and Jonathan's videos on your separate accounts never fail to put a smile on my face and make my day so much brighter! All the best to you and your beautiful family Anna!
ReplyDeleteCheers! <3
You're so right Anna! Material things are just that - Material. Friends and family are what make Life beautiful! :) You shouldn't ever have to justify yourself! In Life, there's always going to be critics but just remember that there are so many people out there who you've helped, with their confidence and who love you and your incredible family, just like myself! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat Post, as always! XX.
That ring is beautiful!! You should be proud to show it, don't let negative people turn you off from sharing with the people who support you and care about your happiness. Negative people are just miserable and jealous! Ps: Eduardo looks adorable 😍😍 as usual lol
ReplyDeleteLove your new ring Anna! It's beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteEduardo is the so precious, I'm having a little girl in few days and hope she's a smiley and happy as your little Eduardo. :)

I love your blogs!!!!!! Your always so open and honest and that what I love about you and your family. My husband and I will be together 8 years in November and its crazy how much life can change in 8 years.I have a 15 month old daughter and I'm now almost 5 months pregnant with baby number 2.Its pretty scary....But I'm looking forward to the new Adventures. Watching your vlogs really helps so I can know what to expect sort of ha ha ha.....Can't wait to see your new ring!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Anna! I really enjoy your blog! It's actually the first that I started following years ago. Your ring is gorgeous and congrats on getting back into a workout routine. I just started working out after having my second baby and I know how hard it can be because you have so little time for yourself. I recommend avoiding gel manicures if you want to grow healthy, strong nails. While they look great and last longer your nails will become weaker and weaker with each gel manicure you get. And while they are strong when you have the gel on they will be so weak without it. I don't know who told you the opposite. I don't know if it's the gel or the way it's removed or a combo of the two that weakens nails. As a mommy I know how nice it is to have a manicure last that long. When I get a mani the polish chips the same day. I did gels for about 6 months but stopped when I found out I was expecting our second baby. While I love the durability, I was afraid of the chemicals. I had already been thinking of stopping because I was concerned about damage that the uv light was doing to my hands and my once strong nails were so weak at that point. Sally Hansen and Revlon make no uv light gel polishes. I haven't tried them yet myself. However, I don't know if they're a great alternative if you're trying to strengthen your nails. There are some brands that make more "natural" polishes that claim to have less chemicals and to be child friendly. You might consider those as a safer alternative. The best thing you can do is avoid polish for a while and eat a healthy, clean diet. You might want to try a nail serum and a supplement for nails if you feel that breastfeeding is the issue. I hope this helps.
ReplyDeletelooove the manicure and the new ring! so beautiful! <3

ReplyDeleteBeautiful ring Anna. Not everyone will agree, but it would be a boring world if we all agreed on the same things!

I've had a similar colour done to yours, it's so gorgeous and fresh! Totally understand why you wouldn't want to share, but you both have worked hard to get yourself in a successful and comfortable position, and you deserve the upgrade! <3

Helloooo from Costa Rica! Ana, gel polish destroys my nails! They turn into thin-like-paper. I have asked professionals and they explained me that it depends on the person but sometimes that's the effect they cause on some people.
ReplyDeleteAlso check your thyroid. Problem with nails is an syntom when their is a problem with the hormones.
Kisses!
Loved reading this , and I think you deserve some new trainers it's about time aye aha have a good day :)
ReplyDeleteHey Anna, you don't have to worry about the criticisms..
ReplyDeleteJust be yourself. You are such a lovely person and my inspiration.
Thank you for sharing your amazing family life with all of us.
I hope to see more blogs and more videos in your Youtube channel.
Love sent from Hong Kong.
Beautiful relationship you have and the beautiful ring is a good representation of that. Good luck for many years of togetherness. Your vlogs are now an essential part of my day and I always have good wishes for you all as you people are so real. Bless you all. Emilia is <3
ReplyDeleteThat ring is absolutely stunning! My mum and dad got married 20 years ago, and at the time they couldn't afford for her to have an engagement ring. It didn't matter to her at all, but for their 20th wedding anniversary my dad took my mum to London and bought her a diamond engagement ring. She felt the same as you, unsure of whether to show it off, but I think you both should - it shows how hard you've worked and how far you've come as a couple! You should be proud x

Your ring is beautiful!! I'm obsessed! x.x.x.
ReplyDeletelove you guys !!! reading your posts and watching your videos brighten my day :) the ring is stunning <3<3
ReplyDeleteI've been doing gel manicure at home myself for like 8 months now and a week ago i actually tried to use nail polish again ... it was such a mess! I absolutely love gel manicure it lasts so long, doesn't smell and makes nails so strong! I've posted about this on my blog also. Read some comments here how it makes your nails weaker but it's all about how you remove it so as i said I've been using gel polish for 8 months now and my nails are still strong and beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteStunning ring Anna, well wear, and well said 😉
ReplyDeleteWell said Anna!! Beautiful ring and nails! My husband doesn't wear the ring either. The important thing is that we've been married for 19 years and, you know...manly men! He just finds wearing a ring very uncomfortable!! Ha!

Beautiful ring Anna! Jonathan has great taste ;). It is kind of sad that you have to put a disclaimer on your blog about the ring situation, I wish people could just be happy for each other. But yeah, that's the internet!
ReplyDeleteI am still wearing the ring my boyfriend gave me when we were 16 years old, now 24 we are planning our wedding for next year. It feels very weird to get another ring, since I have had this one for 8 years already! I am still not sure whether I want to get a new one or keep this one!
You don't need to explain yourself!
ReplyDeleteI need to get back to the gym but I find it so boring! I'd rather run in the lighter nights. Xx
Never apologize for your happiness! If others cant be happy for you, then poo on them. (; Seriously though, congrats and I'm so happy you shared with us. (:
ReplyDeleteI've been loving the nude/bridal nail looks lately! Your ring is gorgeous Anna!

You have a wonderful life and there is nothing wrong with sharing it! Being grateful and enjoying what you have (be it material things or not) is nothing to be ashamed of. I really enjoy reading your blog and watching your videos. It helps me enjoy my own family and life and to feel happy for everything I have too!
ReplyDeleteAnd personally, I think your gym shoes are cute. :)
Are you still taking prenatal vitamins? I'm currently nursing my second child and my nails, while not great, seem to be okay. I just never stopped taking the prenatal vitamins between my first and second child and I plan on continuing to take them after she's done nursing.
ReplyDeleteI love your new ring - very art deco looking!
ReplyDeleteLovely ring Anna.
