L'Oreal Elvive Damage Care Repair Shampoo & Conditioner
Watch my April Favourites video here! :)
Here are my most loved/used products of April 2012! First up are the shampoo & conditioner that I have been enjoying for the past month. I really love the way they make my hair feel right after I wake up the next morning after washing it. (I always wash my hair at night.) They claim to heal the cuticle and fill in the cracks, leaving your hair feeling silky smooth. Whether it really does this I have no idea but I can certainly feel the difference after using these products!
Dove Indulgent Nourishment Body Lotion with Shea Butter
This new Dove line has been advertised all over town...I've seen it on billboards and promotions in most drugstores or supermarkets. So I picked up the Shea Butter one for dry skin and have actually just repurchased it a few days ago as I love it so much. Dove do some amazing moisturisers in my opinion and this one is super rich but not too sticky or thick. You can get dressed after applying it without having to worry about it transferring onto your clothes. I use it on my feet, arms, elbows, knees & legs.
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks
I talk about this in almost every pregnancy vlog recently but I purchased this last month as opposed to the regular Cocoa Butter Formula and have really enjoyed it. It claims to help improve the appearance of stretch marks is specially formulated for pregnancy. I don't have any stretch marks to report yet but will continue to use this as it has vitamin E, collagen and elastin. Again this is really easy to apply and dries quickly. The smell is rather unpleasant but it doesn't last on your skin. I use this on my tummy, hips, thighs, boobs & lower back!
The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter
I've also been loving this body butter which comes in The Body Shop's new bio-degradable packaging. This is for normal skin, so it's not like one of those super rich & pasty formulas that take far too long to absorb into your skin. The smell of this is absolutely AMAZING and whenever I put it on at night, Sina loves to lick it off...ha ha ha!
St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub "Invigorating"
I mentioned this in my skincare post last week but I have been using St. Ives Apricot Scrub for years and they have just launched their new look & packaging which I think is much more practical! This is the version for all skin types which is oil-free and without salicylic acid. I use this once a week and love how it makes my skin feel fresh & clean afterwards!
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
I did get a ton of questions recently about the foundation I've been using and the truth is, it's not foundation at all...it's this! This was the first BB cream I ever tried and I have to say I'm impressed. I would not recommend this to anyone who has a lot of acne or pigmentation that they're looking to cover up because it is more like a tinted moisturiser and the coverage is light. However if used with a good concealer, I think I can get away with it...and I do not have perfect skin, at all! It also has an SPF 30 in there and is oil-free however I do find I need to touch up with powder throughout the day. I like the fresh glow it gives my skin though, and it looks extremely natural on.
Sarah G Cosmetics Face Kit
(neutral eyeshadows)
I know I talked about this in my March Favourites but this month I've been wearing the two neutral eyeshadows in this palette non stop! I have gotten a lot of questions in videos as to what makeup I'm wearing and it's almost always this! It's so simple, easy and quick...I just use the vanilla shade all over the lid and the bronze in the crease. These shadows are highly pigmented with hardly any fallout -- perfect! The face kit is available here.
Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara
At first I will admit I was quite sceptical about this because I'm usually not one for lengthening mascaras. I tend to favour more volumising ones like CoverGirl Lashblast or DiorShow. But this surprised me and I actually really like it. It lengthens so much so that there is no need for added volume and it separates every lash individually. It doesn't flake or transfer either which is a big plus!
The Body Shop Born Lippy Pomegranate Lip Balm
This has become my go-to lip product for night-time and I keep it on my bedside table. It's the new stick version of The Body Shop's famous lip balms (which I remember sticking my fingers into in the shop when I was little...so hygienic!!). I probably wouldn't have chosen such a vibrant shade for bed-time (it shows up kind of orangey-red) but my lips feel super moisturised and soft the next morning!
Maybelline ForeverStrong Pro Nail Polish Porcelain Collection
I'm sure you all saw me wearing these non-stop last month...they are such great Easter shades! I can honestly say that these are pretty amazing nail polishes, and especially for the price! I wore the pastels for a week long each and they lasted the entire 7 days without chipping. Impressive! My favourite of the bunch was probably Porcelain Pink but Ceramic Blue was also really cute. Lilac Dreams is probably my least favourite but that's because I've never been a lilac person. The darker Denim Blue was on my toes for about 3 weeks with no chipping at all...wow!
So those were my favourites for April 2012! Let me know yours in the comments or link me up to your blog post!
