Do you heart my makeup? You better, it's for Valentine's Day ;)
WATCH THE VIDEO TUTORIAL HERE!
I'm absolutely not the kind of person who is going to wear some crazy fluorescent pink eyeshadow just because it's Valentine's Day because let's be honest, I would probably look like a clown. My approach to wearing pink is much softer. I used a light pink incorporated into a black/silver smokey eye.
I used the A La Mode palette from The Body Shop's spring collection, Brush with Fashion. I absolutely love this palette! (Check out my review of the Boho Beauty palette here.) The only eyeshadow which was not as pigmented as the others was the pink one. These are all shimmery except for the black. Again, like in the other palette you get a tiny brush and pencil liner.
I used pink on the inner two thirds of the lid, silver in the crease and outer third of the lid, a little pink above the silver in the crease, then defined the outer 'v' with the black shadow. I used the white to highlight my brow-bone and in the inner corners of my eye. I also applied some pink on the lower lashline and black shadow on the outer third of the lower lashline. I finished off with some black eyeliner on top and bottom, as well as black mascara (I used CoverGirl's Lashblast).
I actually really like how this turned out! It's more of a dramatic evening look for me, perfect for a Valentine's Day dinner date or something of that nature!
On my face I have FYF Mineral Loose Powder Foundation in Medium, Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer, Hoola by Benefit (as a contour) and I used these two Body Shop products also. The first, the Illuminating Face Base I had used in my previous face as an all-over base which I was later informed by a reader is actually just a highlight! (Silly me :) So this time I used it the right way, on the bridge of my nose, my cheekbones and cupid's bow. I then used a tiny amount of the Cheek Tint in Hot Pink. I liked this product a lot better this time...I applied it to my hand first and then used a stippling brush to apply it to my cheeks. I also used a much smaller amount and it looked a lot better. It also was not patchy, and I feel it compliments the pink eyeshadow better than the shades in the other palette.
Finally, on my lips I'm wearing Maybelline's Delicate Pearl, a frosty baby pink!
Stay tuned for the Valentine's Day fashion post, coming soon!
Hopefully I've provided you with some inspiration for V-Day.
Stay Stylish!

ReplyDeleteI think its really nice, I adore your eye make up! its beautiful! but if it was me I would add a bit more light redish lip colour and less pink on cheeks, because I think its too much light colours going on on your face. But anyways this look is great for u!

Looks gorgeous on you!:*
ReplyDeleteNow it's my turn to say that this is really one of my FAVORITE makeup looks out there. I was just looking for a pink makeup look too because when doing it myself I was coming out more like I actually had "pink eye"...not so good. The silver and black really makes this wearable. Love it Anna!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Will try this out myself! :) Thanks Anna! But I might substitute the pink shade for a purple one if I decide to wear my purple silk dress on Vday :)
