I went on a haircare shopping spree today as my hair has been very blah lately and I'm getting sick of it. It's gotten super long, so it's quite difficult and time-consuming to style and maintain properly. My hair type is thick and dry but because of all the awful chemicals and hair dyes I've used on it it's pretty damaged at this point too. My split ends are so terrible...thank god you can't see them on camera!
I know I need to look after it properly so I'm thinking of chopping it to about just below my shoulders and giving it some much needed TLC. I purchased some items from Sam McCauley (drugstore) today which I've never tried before so I hope they work out. Here's what I got:
John Frieda Frizz-Ease Emergency Treatment Leave-in Conditioning Spray - €5.65
John Frieda Frizz-Ease Extra Strength Hair Serum - €6.89
I also picked up some L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray for Dry and Damaged Hair (€2.70) and my trusty old hair-dye, Garnier Nutrisse Creme in #10 Chamomile (€6.05). I know, I know...blonde hair-dye = damage but I miss my light blonde locks and it was time to go back to my roots...kind of!
Let me know if you've tried any of these products before and if they've worked for you!
Stay Stylish!

the john frieda serum is amazing - just make sure to not use too much :) i hope it works as well for you as it does for me!
ReplyDeleteI think I might try that Garnier Nutrisse Creme, since I tend to spend abusive amounts of money at the hairdresser's and not even get out of them totally happy...
ReplyDeleteDo you know what would be totally great? A tutorial vid or post explaining how to apply this product. Maybe more people are, as me, totally unaware of how to properly use it!
It would be great, Anna!!
Kindest regards from Spain!
XoXo
I also have ridiculous damage from highlighting my hair blonde, but I just love the light color and am terrified that I'll regret it if I dye my hair dark. It's always tempting, though when I blow dry my hair and feel like it looks like straw! Have you ever tried Coloresse products? They are a life safer for dry, damaged hair.

ReplyDeletehere is an old video of anna talking about dieing your own hair
I am addicted to Elnett Hairspray. They started selling it in Canada last year and I won't touch anything else.
ReplyDeleteYou should cut your hair to your shoulders. It gives such a nice shape and highlights the face. I cut mine from mid back to above the shoulder and loved it. The only thing I would advise is to leave it just long enough to make a tiny ponytail, so you can pull it back when you feel lazy.
Ahh noo, don't cut it all off! Just have a couple of inches off & try hard to look after it more afterwards & get some hair scissors to cut off any split ends you see yourself. I really recommend Boots Expert Heat Protection Taming Serum, too. I did a review on it recently :)
ReplyDeleteAs a very frizzy girl I've tried a lot of haircare products for my hair type, I've found that John Frieda products don't work very well. Especially that hair serum, it doesn't do anything for my hair! Marc Anthony's line for frizz is way better.
ReplyDeleteAnna I am so glad you are going back to your light blonde hair color.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot more.....stunning on you.
The darker blonde looks good too, but its like if "Marlyn Monroe" had dark blonde, it isn't as fun and statement like.
Dark blonde on you is kinda bla-zay..
Your videos are great, so keep it up.
Also, you have been eating alot of bagels...lol...do you have it plain or do you put stuff on it?...lol Toasted or non-toasted?
Thanks,
Esther
I have ridiculously damaged hair from bleaching it platinum silvery white. I've recently gone back to around a Level 8-9 natural blonde, and of all the dyes I've tried, I found Nutrisse to be one of the least damaging for my incredibly fragile hair.
